Configuring a Basic Squid Web Proxy Proxy

By April 12, 2013September 12th, 2022No Comments

Using openSUSE or SUSE Linux Enterprise Linux the YaST utility provides a module, yast2-squid, for you to graphically manage the Squid Web Proxy server and may make life a little more simple than dealing with the squid.conf file if you are not comfortable in the command line.

In this video we use openSUSE 11.2 and add in the squid proxy with time based ACLs to control access to the Internet. Settings will be made in YaST but verified from the command line to give the perspective to what is happening.
